Rocket Science Sports South Africa

From Austin
to Atlantic.

Performance triathlon and swim gear, engineered in Texas — brought home to our oceans.

Our story

An aerospace engineer, a triathlete, and a wetsuit problem.

Rocket Science Sports was founded in Austin, Texas in 2004 by Marcin Sochacki — an aerospace engineering graduate who happened to be a triathlete frustrated by the gear available to him. He started applying the principles he knew from aircraft design — aerodynamics, hydrodynamics, material science — to wetsuits, swim skins, and triathlon apparel.

Two decades later, the brand has dressed first-time open water swimmers, age-group athletes, and world-record holders. Every product still goes through the same engineering-led process: design, test, refine, repeat.

We brought Rocket Science Sports to South Africa because the gear belongs in our oceans. Open water swimming, triathlon, and surf culture are part of how we live here — and the technical demands of swimming a Robben Island crossing or racing the Cape Epic deserve gear built for performance, not compromise.

What we do

The right suit, the right size, the right swimmer.

Triathlon wetsuits, tri-suits, and performance swim gear across five performance tiers. Our job is to help you understand which gear fits your body, your level, and your goals — then put the right one on you.

Our approach

How we make gear.

Design

Every detail earns its place. Engineered to maximise human efficiency — aero, hydro, compression, and form.

Innovation

Good design isn't enough. We've been refining the craft since 2004, hunting marginal gains stroke by stroke.

Quality

Tightly integrated with our production team — quality checked at every step so what you receive is what we designed.
